What is utm_id?
The UTM tag for a campaign ID
Who adds it
Advertisers add it, often from their ad platform, to tie a visit to a campaign ID. Klaviyo lets users switch it on in its UTM settings, and Meta says it may add a campaign ID to ad traffic automatically.
What it means
It carries a campaign's ID rather than its name. Google Analytics can match it to campaign data you upload, such as cost.
What to do with it
Use the same IDs you use when you import campaign data into Google Analytics, so the uploaded data lines up with the visits.
How Vireo shows it
Vireo doesn't record utm_id. Vireo Pro's UTM campaigns card reports utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign only.
In the free plugin, Vireo drops the query string from page addresses, keeping only a few WordPress ones such as p and page_id, so a tagged URL counts as the same page as the untagged one. The visit is counted under the referrer it arrived with.
See Referrers and sources in the docs.
