About Vireo
Vireo Analytics is made by RebelCode. We build WordPress plugins and run WordPress sites, and we built Vireo for our own sites first.
Who we are
RebelCode has built WordPress plugins since 2012, when WP RSS Aggregator went up on WordPress.org. It’s now active on 40,000+ sites, and our Spotlight plugin on 60,000+. We also run WP Mayor, a site about WordPress. RebelCode was founded by Jean Galea.

Why we built it
We wanted to leave Google Analytics without losing years of history, see which searches bring people to each post, and know what AI crawlers take from our sites against the readers they send back, with the data kept in our own WordPress database.
Vireo runs on our own sites, including jeangalea.com, whose real AI crawler numbers are on the homepage.
How it's made
The plugin is free and open source under the GPL, and it's on WordPress.org. Visitor data stays in your own database and is never sent to us. Vireo Pro is how we pay for its development.
