What is _kx?
Klaviyo email click identity
Who adds it
Klaviyo adds it to every link in emails sent from accounts with click tracking on. The value is unique and encrypted.
What it means
A recipient clicked a link in a Klaviyo email. Klaviyo's on-site script decrypts it to identify the person, so their browsing is tied to their profile.
What to do with it
It identifies an individual, so keep it out of shared reports and URLs. Klaviyo's on-site tracking reports whether _kx was present on a session.
How Vireo shows it
Vireo doesn't store click IDs, in the free plugin or in Pro.
In the free plugin, Vireo drops the query string from page addresses, keeping only a few WordPress ones such as p and page_id, so a tagged URL counts as the same page as the untagged one. The visit is counted under the referrer it arrived with.
