What is epik?
Pinterest ads click data
Who adds it
Pinterest adds information to the landing page URL when someone clicks a Pinterest ad. The Pinterest tag then caches it in a first-party cookie named _epik.
What it means
The visit came from a Pinterest ad. The Pinterest tag uses the value to match the visitor to the ad click for conversion measurement.
What to do with it
Leave it in place if you run Pinterest ads and use the Pinterest tag. Without the tag on your site, nothing reads it.
How Vireo shows it
Vireo doesn't store click IDs, in the free plugin or in Pro.
In the free plugin, Vireo drops the query string from page addresses, keeping only a few WordPress ones such as p and page_id, so a tagged URL counts as the same page as the untagged one. The visit is counted under the referrer it arrived with.
See Referrers and sources in the docs.

When someone clicks on a Pinterest ad, information is added to the URL to help the Pinterest tag find a match.
