What is li_fat_id?

LinkedIn ads click ID

Who adds it

LinkedIn adds it to landing page URLs when someone clicks a LinkedIn ad and the advertiser has enhanced conversion tracking on in the Insight Tag. It's on by default for newly created Insight Tags.

What it means

The visit came from a LinkedIn ad. The name stands for LinkedIn First-Party Ad Tracking ID, and advertisers send it back to LinkedIn's Conversions API to match conversions.

What to do with it

Leave it in place if you run LinkedIn ads. The referrer for the same visit is often linkedin.com or lnkd.in, or missing in the LinkedIn app.

How Vireo shows it

Vireo doesn't store click IDs, in the free plugin or in Pro.

In the free plugin, Vireo drops the query string from page addresses, keeping only a few WordPress ones such as p and page_id, so a tagged URL counts as the same page as the untagged one. The visit is counted under the referrer it arrived with.

See Referrers and sources in the docs.

Sources

This automatically appends a click ID parameter li_fat_id to the landing page URLs every time a user clicks on a LinkedIn ad and is redirected to advertiser's landing page.
