Give a role access
- Go to Vireo Analytics, Settings, General.
- Under “Who can see the numbers”, tick the roles in “Roles with access”. Administrator is always ticked and can’t be changed.
- Click “Save settings”.
Users with those roles now see Vireo Analytics, Overview in their admin menu.
What they can and can’t do
Users with read access can:
- read every report on the Overview, a post’s stats and the Year in review
- see the toolbar item and the Dashboard widget
- use the REST API, abilities and an AI assistant over MCP with their own login
They can’t open Settings, run imports, connect or remove sites, or do anything that deletes data. Those need an administrator.
Adding notes needs the right to edit other people’s posts, which editors and administrators have.
How it works
Vireo grants the view_vireo_analytics capability to each role you tick. If you manage capabilities with a role editor plugin, you can grant it to a single user or a custom role the same way.
A client who shouldn’t log in at all
With Vireo Pro, you can send a read-only link to the Overview instead, with an optional password and expiry date. Viewers don’t need a WordPress account.
