Importing your history

How to import your old analytics into Vireo, which tools it imports from, and how it avoids counting a day twice.

Vireo imports your history from the analytics tool you used before, so your charts keep going instead of starting again on the day you switched.

Where

In WordPress, go to Vireo Analytics, Settings, and open the Import & export tab. The Import data section lists sources it found on your site first, then the ones you’ve already imported, then the rest. Each has its own “Import from” button.

What it imports from

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Plausible Analytics (from Plausible’s export file)
  • Jetpack Stats
  • Koko Analytics
  • Statify
  • WP Statistics
  • Burst Statistics
  • Independent Analytics
  • SlimStat Analytics

What comes across depends on what each tool kept. The switching guides cover each one, with what you need before you start, and the comparison table shows them side by side.

What each source needs

  • Google Analytics 4 needs a Google service-account key file and your property’s numeric ID. The GA4 guide has the steps.
  • Jetpack Stats needs a WordPress.com API key and your site’s address.
  • Plausible needs the export file you download from Plausible. Vireo deletes it once it has read it.
  • The other plugins are read straight from their tables in your database. The plugin can be active or deactivated, but its tables must still be there, so import before you delete it.

Your source data is never changed.

No day counted twice

If Vireo already has its own numbers, the import stops the day before they begin, and the screen tells you which day that is. You can choose to import those days too, but then each of them holds both sets of numbers.

An import adds to what Vireo already holds and can’t be undone, so import each source once. Vireo asks you to confirm before you run the same source again.
